One of my Ground Squirrel Hunting partners called me all excited this afternoon and relayed to me that one of the towns two sport shops had Remington 525 Bulk Pack Hollow-points on sale for $15.75!
I don't have any 22's sighted in for it but I raced over and bought several packs of it just before they closed for the night.
Another of my friends got wind of this "deal" and made me promise to go and buy him 10 of the bulk packs first thing tomorrow morning!
So I think fast, and relay to him that the only reason I will go to the sport shop when it opens at 0900 hours is because the high tempreature tomorrow here at 5,800' is going to be 38 degrees and the Gophers won't be out for several hours after sun-up!
Long ago I used to use this ammo and it worked well in many of my 22 Rifles and pistols.
I then drifted over to Federal American Eagle 400 packs and about 6 years ago went to the Federal Bulk Pack Hollow-point ammo!
I have a few friends that shoot this Remington Bulk Pack Hollow-point ammo and it is "lethal" on the Gophers for sure!
I got a call from another Gopher Hunter out in Western Washington tonight and he finally found some Federal Bulk Pack 550 count at a Wal-Mart today and it was $18.97 (plus the 9% sales tax so it came to $20.68 a pack!)!
He bought a bunch of it.
When the VarmintSons come home from college this summer they can shoot up this Remington ammo I got today! That will keep them out of my Federal stuff.
I have about 7,000 rounds of my main go to Federal H/P ammo and that should last me 1 1/2 Gopher seasons!
I simply am not going to be passing up any more "deals" on 22 H/P ammo, regardless of brand - I am not sure how long they will be around?
Any Gopherers coming through Dillon, Montana let me know and I will "vector" you in on this deal!
