I'm thinking of putting the Zeiss 3-9X40 on my M70 30.06 and I can't find the tube length, (mounting length for the rings)?

Will Talley Lightweight 2 piece base/ring mounts work for my application without getting the extended base? Will regular lows work as well?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Elkhunter! I called Talley and they said #930702 lows should work fine. I'm gonna order everything and give 'em a try. I was gonna go Leupold VX3 2.5-8X36, but I've never tried a Zeiss and everybody who has one seems to really like it. We'll see.

I just put my caliper up to my 3-9 Conquest and the straight tube length is 6.155" between the bells.

You'll like that combo just fine.

I have the same combo on my 700KS.

Don't worry, you're in good shape. I have that combo and have the front mount turned so the ring is facing away from the shooter. Fron a side view the rear ring is turned in and the front ring turned out. I hope that makes sense. Plenty of flexibility to mount the scope especially if both rings are turned in.
