I am looking at this rifle as a possible purchase.It is a 99F 250 3000 serial number 768xxx.It is being sold as original.I am questioning this because the bolt is jewelled.Is it possible the factory jewelled some bolts?The rifle looks in good shape from the pictures.The blueing looks almost too good.What is the verdict on the jewelled bolt?

It should be correct. My franken99F in 250 is a few thousand lower than that serial number and it's got a jewelled bolt.

Jeweled bolt should be good
Check out the wear to the checkering and wood, if it matches wear to bluing bluing probably good. If the wood seems worn more than the bluing....???

Would let us know what the asking price / closing price is. A lady friend just found a .250 simular to the model you described in the garage under some old blankets, 20 years after her old man took off. Dirty in the receiver, ready to be cleaned up.
