I'd rather be out getting my hands dirty, running a shovel or something, but I'll take what I can get. I'm a little scorned from the last time I was out of work, but that is a different story.

So how can I help? I am not exactly in the civil biz, but fairly close...a lot of firms that do environmental also do civil. You could use me as a character reference. we dont have any openings right now that i am aware of, but i could get you an informational interview. start the networking process, etc. think about it and let me know how i can help you out.
if you want a job getting your hands dirty, i know the guys at Determan-Brownie very well...i dont know if they are hiring. if they are, i can get you an interview there methinks. look them up on the web or call them.
What you do today is important, you are trading a day in the rest of your life for it.

Thanks dude. I may need your help, if for nothing else, the contacts. That is a major hurdle right there. Finding out who does what. I'll check that site out, thanks a bunch. I've had some action today believe it or not. SEH Engineering, HNTB Engineering, all good places to start. it's starting to get down to "go time" for the construction, so if something is going to happen, it's going to be quick.

Guiding is supposed to make me money, not cost me money Bill. I'll need to fill you full of beer and sandwhices, plus bait, all the lures you'll loose.  I did a little checking on that too. To guide on Mille Lacs, it is US Coast Guard waters, so that is a big deal. Big bucks and many hours to even start to get a captain's lisc. for that. I'm going to try to learn the water a bit, but I still may do it. Sunday would have been a free-bee for who ever I took out.  Not too good of a day.

From personal experience - Careful of what you wish for, as D-day arrives in a hurry. We did all of our stuff in 3 months - seems like a long time when you say it, but boy, were we battling right to the end (apart from the odd game of golf). Head down & bum up. Git'r'dun ! I havent heard of HNTB. SEH I have seen from time to time. Braun Intertec would be anudder one to look into.
