If it's illegal to posess so much as the parts to do a full auto, but how does Ted get away with owning several full autos and show different individuals blowing off steam with them on TV? Suppressor and all on the one unit...

Any qualifying US citizen can apply for a Class Three license and get a full auto weapon.
But you gotta get the license.

a transferable full auto lower or RDIS (registered drop in auto sear) will run $10000 on average for the M16 version simply because new civilian MG's aren't allowed.
