Found a really good deal on a travel trailer, and moved it to a permament spot on Santee Cooper, at Rocks Pond campgrounds. Spent the last 2 weekends building a 8'x30" deck. I have a private boat slip for my Ranger now, so I don't have to fight the holiday, and weekend crowds at the Ramp. My Baby ready for the water. 2008 Ranger 519VX, w/ 200hp Evinrude E-Tes HO. Some pics of the inside... The Outside at night. I'm ready for summer now!

Very nice, looks like you are ready for the water.

Congrats. Looks like a nice home away from home. You should have a great boating season with that "camp" to return to at the end of the day. Enjoy! -TomT.

Congrats. We may not all admit it, but most of us envy your setup.

Very, very nice setup, including the Ranger. I've heard that Santee-Cooper has some very remote places on it. A lot like Caddo Lake in Texas. You can get lost really easily. Sounds like an excellent location.

Quality setup, especially like that Tiger Paw when you first step up on that deck.

When you have a moment drop me a PM. I live about 3 hours from there and have a couple of questions for you.
Enjoy today's SC weather. It's a beaut!

One of my Doctor buddies owned 500 acres outside of Orangeburg and i loved the place. You have a great setup. Love it.

Keep your eyes peeled for the gators there. I have a neighbor who killed one there 2 years ago. He caught it on a rod and reel. He thought it was one of those huge catfish that he's always bringing home. Whe the dang thing started climbing in the boat with him, the only weapons he had were a 16" piece of re-bar and a short-handled sledge hammer. He drove the rebar down through the top of it's head. It was enormous! He had one of those real large beer coolers. When he told me to come see what he had in his truck bed, I was expecting more catfish. He opened that cooler, and the gator's head was in it. The head was massive. The feet were about 6" across! He said it measured 16 1/2 feet long. It was humongous! I know I would not even think about swimming there, but he said many do.
He was acting in self-defence when he killed that thing, because it sure could have done him in, and he is one mean mutha! He's a typical hill-billy...he wouldn't appear to be very smart at first glance, but he can out-hunt, out-fish, and out-shoot most people that I know. He looks like a wild mountain man, and that's cause he is!
We catch a lot of trout together.

My greatgrandfather was the first man to open a store on Lake Marion. Spent many spring breaks fishing there. Killed my first deer right behind the dam. Many fond memories of the place.
