How about having a rifle that would also shoot a smaller caliber for shorter range/ smaller game? How would you guys like to shoot a 22mag in your 22-250 Rem. You would buy a pack of bits of metal piping. these bits of piping would be shaped like the 22-250 in the example above. They would then have a hole made inside that would hold the 22 Mag shell in the example above. You would put a 22 Mag shell in the piping and then run the piping with the shell inside through your rifle. The rifle would feed this little thing just like a normal shell, and when you shoot it sets off the 22 mag shell which shoots it's little bullet down the barrel. when you open the bolt on the 22-250 the whole thing would come out just like a normal shell and eject. You would have lots of practice with your rifle at less cost than it would be for the regular ammo.

They already have these, mostly for centerfire so you can shoot a 38 special in your 35 Remington, a 30 Carbine in your 30-06 and so on. Nice idea but has been developed. I am having a problem remebering their name but I think they start with an "H" maybe one of the other guys can help me out here.
Okay then, how about a 22 Hornet or 218 Bee instead? I was thinking more along the lines of a 30 M1 Carbine in a 300 magnum. 25-35 in a 25-06 that kind of thing.

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but here is a link to someone in Alaska who makes inserts for rifles and shotguns. I've dealt with them in the past and they are reputable and their service is excellent. DAL
