This is a Vari-X III quality scope that is in excellent condition. There are minimal ring marks on the tube and only some very minor handling marks on the power adjusting ring and adjusting covers. Optics are clear and bright This scope has the heavy duplex reticle and is perfect for hunting dangerous game and/or for low-light/visibility conditions. $295 Shipped PM with email address for questions or pictures. Check Leupold site for pictures

Is that a short front tube in matte?? Never seen a shorty in the matte finish.

It is matte finish. This is the only one I've seen so don't know whether they made it in glossy. Leupold site lists it as only available in matte finish at this time.

Leupold made these in both gloss and matte. I love them - wish this one was a regular duplex.

Does the box or the designation within the gold ring indicate Vari X-III 1.75-6E?

That's not the E version. I have that exact scope on my muzzleloader and it's a really nice little scope.

There is no "E" after the 1.75 X 6.

I've got 5 shorties, but all of them are gloss. I've never seen a matte version.
If I didn't have one of these, a Vari X-II 1-4, a VX-III 4.5-14 and two 2.5-8s sitting in the safe waiting for a roost, I'd grab this one!!

After looking at the pictures above I realized I forgot to mention how well it would fit on a short action rifle.

This scope long enough to fit on a standard long 06' flavored action? Free bump.

I am interested but not sure about the "x6"? Did you mean 1.7-6? If so, what is the objective size? 32mm?

The scope has a variable power range of 1 3/4X through 6X and it has the 32mm objective.
