A year and a half ago I built a 6BR using a 18.5' PacNor with a 1:8 twist. I had a varmint load developed with 87 gr vmax that shoots in the low .3's
I built this gun to try and develop a 6mm subsonic round, for that second and third coyote. I did it today. !!!!! 1139 fps using 7.5 grains of Trailboss, pretty close to 90% of a full case.! I used a 105 gr AMAX in my 18.5" 1 in 8 twist PacNor barrel. fired through the suppressor all I could hear was the bullet hitting the target. I can't wait for the two coyote presentation. He He
I am sooooo happy. Bob

I've often wondered if a suppressor was legal for nongame species... i'm sure it depends on the state.

There is a great Youtube video of a couple guys shooting two deer with a supressed AR .243 wsm (I believe) and 87 gr Vmaxes. Great video. I'll see if I can find it.
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

As far as I could tell that was a full charge through that suppressor. But the sound could have been from the action cycling too.
When I went sage rat (Belden Ground Squirrel) hunting last month. I was shooting my suppressed 6 BR with the 87 grain VMAX at 2900fps (super sonic) and that's what it sounded like. About like a 22 rimfire. This new subsonic load I've got, with the bolt action, is soooooo quiet that about all you hear is pffft and then the bullet hitting the target.
I won't be able to get back to the range for a couple of weeks to do some ladder testing for groups, but when I do I will post the results.
With this Trail Boss powder I might be able to get the 87gr Vmax sub sonic also. Boy oh boy is this fun. Bob

Well the weather was great so I headed to the range today.
The subsonic load was fun to shoot, but the best I could do with the 105 gr AMax was about 2", and 3 out of the five holes were keyholed.
So it looks like I have to start working my way down in bullet weights.
I was really cool looking through the scope at 20 power and watching the bullet for the last 50 yards, fall in a large arc and then hit the target. Bob
