Picked up a 30-30 trapper saddle ring 16" carbine, NIB, vintage 1979, pre safety, non angle eject, with original box and instructions. What's it worth, gotta be more than the $675 blue book, don't see another one for sale anywhere? Can't sell it here until I do 25 posts so I might as well rub in my find awhile. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/default/grin.gif

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

The only one I see is an altered, refinished one that is at $385 with a day to go. Others are safety models.

I dunno - I traded a knife, even, to get my pristine 1978 .30-30 Trapper. The knife WAS a Randall, though. .

You are NOT helping me not shoot this dang thing! If it didn't have that ring rattling around it would be near perfect snowshoe gun. If I still have it when my Ranchdog TLC311-165RF mold comes ,I'm in trouble. If I could figure how to post pics I would.

[ If it didn't have that ring rattling around it would be near perfect snowshoe gun.] Why do you think the saddle ring on my Trapper has a rawhide/leather thong tied 'round it ? .

I have a .32 Spec 16" Wrangler that I replaced the hoop lever with a standard. It is maybe the perfect, "lay in the other pickup bucket seat" or 4-wheeler scabbard, rifle. I am not much on handgun cartridges in lever rifles, but I love short levers in rifle calibers. Winchesters were selling high, but they may be slowing down now. I have a Mod 95 in .270Win and an XTR Big Bore in .375Win that are both unfired. I'm thinking about moving them. Good luck.

Maybe oil it up and put it back in the box for another 30 years or so?

.
A '79 gun with original box, hang tags, and unfired, That was one of the last of the real Winchesters. Winchester was sold to US Repeating Arms in the summer of '81. I would not sell for less than $800. Some will say it's not worth that much but it is to someone who wants it.
