Which is better: the M1 or the AR-10. I am not planning to wage war against some corrupted government or forgein invasion force, just for shooting and back woods use. I want to know about reliablility, accuracy, affordability, ease of service, etc. I must admit that I am leaning toward the M1 from all the positive comments I have heard about it.

Caz,<BR>The AR-10 wins hands down in the mechanical departments.No one can argue their greater accuracy over an M1.<BR>However the M1 brings "Other"things to the shoulder.Call it Kharma.It saved the free world in the hands of heroes in a war that humbles all else man has accomplished.<BR>Off of the shoulder the M1 can only be outshot by the top 10% of riflemen.<BR>Off of the bench the AR-10 will smoke it bad.<BR>Logistics is the one thing that presents a problem with the AR-10.Magazines are a ***** to find and damned costly when ya do find them thanks to that socialist ******* Klinton and his one world inspired "Crime bill".<BR>The AR is easier to shoot well,the M1 has unseen hands guiding your shots....<BR>Get both.<BR>E4E
