I use two guns for turkey and both pattern well for me. 1) 1981 Remington 870 Wingmaster, 3" mag, 30" full choke barrel. It shoots everything well and is easy on ME! A good gun to 40 yards.
2) Early '90's Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag, 3-1/2" mag with an Undertaker turkey choke. Shoulder buster, but I've killed a couple gobblers at 50 yards with this gun. I could not get a Pure Gold turkey choke to pattern well for my gun. Not like the Undertaker.
I prefer the Federal shells, but also use Winchester Supremes and Remington Nitros. Usually #5 shot.

I'm using a Rem 870 super mag, .660 rhino choke with either a 3 1/2 inch Nitro 4x5x7 load or a Heavy 13 3 1/2 inch 5x6x7 magnum blend.

I litterally got rid of every scattergun I ever owned and went Bennelli Nova, then Black Eagle, now Black Eagle Two. It goes where I go.
Running Heavy shot #4s 3.5 inch kuz I can. Lately been trying to burn up some old Federal #4 3.5 inch my dad won in a raffle they have taken two this year.

Beat up old Rem 870 Express 20ga, Primos Jelly Head choke, and Hevi-13 3" #5's.
Sight is the standard single bead, I painted blaze orange to see a bit better. it was light gray and blended in with everything.

Well I used my 870 Express with a MAD Super MAX .675 choke and Hevi-13 3" 2oz #7 loads and smoked a 24lb bird Tues morning at 45yds. Like Reloader said, the 7's will kill a long ways out. I hit that bird harder than any other bird I have hit at that distance regrdless of what load I was trying to use. Those 7's will smoke a gobbler I believe at 60yds very easily if the pattern density is there. Click on this link and see for yourself just how bad those 7's really are. http://forum.gon.com/showthread.php?t=528303Next Monday I will probably be using my 835 and Hevi-13 3.5" 2 and 1/4oz #7's. The 835 and Star Dot choke really likes these loads.

Been using a Mossberg 835 for the past 12 years. The last couple years I've been using 3" shells. Those 3.5" shells are brutal in a light gun.
I got a collapsible buttstock a couple years ago, wouldn't be without it now. This year I went to a red dot sight and like it a lot. Killed a gobbler yesterday with 3" 2 oz #6 Remingtons.

This year I used my waterfowl gun. It is a Stoeger M2000 with the factory turkey choke it came with. I usually use a 1970 era Mossberg 500 with an undertaker turkey choke or Mossberg full choke (gun has new barrel with screw in chokes). I don't think you can beat a Mossberg pump for a turkey gun. I use Winchester 3" #5s in both guns. This year's kill was at least 45 yards. My longest shot to date.

Wont get any crap from me, I think thats a cool rig. Not sure I would take a 35 yard shot but it would be fun to smoke one at 25.
