When compared to a factory synthetic? I mean they are so hollow and light that I couldn't see an edge being any lighter. I know I would end up with a better stock of higher quality but would there be any weight savings?

I was offered a sako 75 stainless synthetic in trade and wondered if a sako 75 hunter edge would save me any weight or just upgrade the stock thats on there now.

Not sure if Iam going to take the trade just curious about the stock. I know the edge would save weight over wood/laminate stocks but not sure about the factory synthetics.

Thanks.

An edge is going to weigh 23-26 oz, depending on pattern, pad, LOP, IIRC. Just compare that to the weight of the existing stock.

I think you would save weight over just about any factory stock - but if thats not an issue then maybe you don't need a Edge.
As an example though, I just got a Hunters Edge for a SA Remington in BDL, it only 22ozs. I can't think of any factory plastic stock that weighs that.

An Edge will weigh 4-6 ozs less than an early Remmy ADL tupperware, 10-12 ozs less than a later ADL tupperware.

With a flip-flop pad and some removal of material, replaced with epoxy and aluminum arrows for strength, I can get a early ADL tupperware close to a Edge.......

An EDGE stock in Sako 75 pattern will save you 10-12 oz, depending on what action you have...

Haven't weighed an edge, but a Remington ADL Ti, Remington Alaskan BDL Ti, and the factory Tupper Wear BDL SPS stocks that I weighed were all within a couple ounces of one another. Thinking it was 21-24 ounces.

The tupperware stock from my Remigton ADL weighs 32 oz if I remember correctly. The Factory synthetic for a Ruger is 30 oz and is the lightest factory stock I've weighed. I don't have an Edge but the standard weight McMillan for my Winchester Featherweight weighs 27 oz.
