Just picked up a Beretta Golden Sable in 30'06x30'06 - 20x20. Nice combo with claw mounts and scope. Before I cart every box of 30'06 I own to the range, any idea what these things were regulated with?

It's probably red'd with some European load. Best hing to do is to call Beretta.. It will most likely save you a bit of ammo..

In my experience O/U Doubles are less finicky about ammo, 165gr or 180gr would be good to start. You have a scope so can basically regulate your gun to whatever bullet you choose (providing it prints good groups with that specific ammo). Generally on a scoped double you regulate one barrel with the scope and then determine at a given distance where your other barrel will print. If you try to scope the regulation of both the barrels and in essence split them you will be limited to that specific distance-not a great idea.
If you need more help with this or my explanation is unclear you can send me a private email and I will help you in any way I can.

Thanks Dino. Had planned to sight in against the lower barrel (front trigger). Hopefully, I can find a factory 180 that groups fairly tightly from both barrels. Have sent a note to Beretta; if I can discover the regulation ammunition, it can only shorten the search.

I would ask Berretta.
A properly regulated small to medium bore double intended for scope use will usually have its barrels regulated to nearly an inch without crossing at 100 yds, so you don't really have to split the difference. I've seen more than one scoped 9.3 Chapuis that will shoot under 2" groups at 200 yards, and without crossing. Other guns, like Valmets, you can adjust the regulation and this works quite well.
Each double is a law unto itself. You may very quickly find a nicely regulated load, or it may take awhile. But don't dispair and think that you will necessarily have a single shot for all distances and a follow-up shot at some much closer distance.
