I have seen several people mention having one of these. Trouble was, when I got mine and started to load for it, all the super sleek bullets [AB, SST, XPT] and even Partitions would not allow the bolt to close unless the beginning of the ogive was seated below the case mouth.
There was plenty of room in the magazine. Only the factory round nose would allow the bolt to close normally. Hhhhhhhhmmmmm. Out of spec throat, maybe?
Well, I got a spiral fluted .257 throater and opened it up until the 120 gr Partitions would easily fit the magazine, but would just allow an easy bolt closure.
Result: Ilogically, I then tried AB's and SST's for accuracy, since they were in better supply and less expensive. Don't have the seating depth set right yet for the AB's, but accuracy was out standing [1/2"] on first try with the SST's.
Has anybody else run into this problem, or was I just, ah, . . . lucky to draw this particular rifle?
