I don't know why anybody's makin' a fuss. Don't ya know Fergie and Princhess Di would be down with ya legalizing drugs and prostitution too.

A sign of the times. Here we are drooling over royals with no fear of losing our heads, and while we're at it, lets not forget princess Madeleine of Sweden

The concept of "Living under monarchy" seems unimaginable anachronistic to me. No offense intended Pete... just seems medieval.
From a practical perspective, there is very little difference in between our two forms of Government, except of course us in our Monarchy have an Govenment elected by the people, where as strictly speaking, you guys don't.... That's all an illusion, of late. We're all ruled by the same oligarchy. Your queen is a tool of that oligarchy, as is our president. Actually, I have a bit more respect for a (real) monarchy than I do for a democracy or a republic. Not that I have much respect for any of them. But the political incentives and motivations are closer to being in the right place in a hereditary monarchy, where a single family has to live for hundreds of years with the consequences of its decisions, than they are in a system like the US one where a politician has only four or eight years to suck everything out of the country that he possibly can, and then the consequences are somebody else's problem. Of course, the English State isn't a real monarchy anymore.
"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain--that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist." --Lysander Spooner, 1867
