Ahhhhhh---not all----have them built the way you want them. I have 35 and 30mm tubes. The 30mm have small low profile knobs, low profile front and back end. Built the first one like this just after the old man (great person btw) was killed on his bike. Now they are building this type as a regular production model!

Also, NF has componet parts built in Asia(not Japan, but China and others)as well FWIW not really US made at all assembeled in Japan.

Think that was the same place that made the glass for the Signature Select at one time.

How can NF get away with saying Made In USA then?

There are some newer models that are made here. Not sure where all the parts come from though.

Now are you starting to get the picture? Outsourcing increases profit margins considerably---Loopy is one of the biggest users of Chinese components but you never see that in any of their literature. They will point blank not answer the question of what percentage of the component parts are from out of the country. Call them and ask the question..

I've always had the "picture".
A certain percentage of the components must be sourced from the US to claim "Made in USA".
Apparently, some of the NF product meets that requirement.

I would also venture to say that US Optics uses at least some components sourced from outside of the US. Whether these are O rings, coating chemicals, titanium, screws, or grease.

Outsourcing allows those of us with more limited discretionary income to get very high quality optics at a price we can afford.

I am thankful that US Optics is not the only choice for me because if they were I could not afford to own a scope.

I always find it interesting when folks get on here to defend Leo. In one form or another this basic statement is said: "i've got a leo that is 10+ years old and never had a prob withit" Well so do I! the problem is that the new models don't seem to be manufactured with the same amount of QC. Now days you can find the same quality, functionality, and warranty for less money.

Exactly how I see it.

Not necessarily saying that Leupold has gotten worse lately so much as saying a bunch of others have caught up and passed them.
