That looks like fun. I haven't been to a shoot in 18 yrs or so.
Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.

Did you try the Asbell grip? My last Widow had it and I liked it. It was a PSAII.

I SO need to get back into that...
But, I need to be in a spot more conducive to the same, first.
Cool shoot. Where/when was it?

The HH was in Alabama a few years ago. ATAR is coming in July in Beckley, WV. It is a very good shoot. I have missed the last couple of years but going tune up a 21st Century Longbow and head up................ want to come?

I tried the Asbell grip but it felt a little strange to me.
The shoot is at Tannehill State Park near Birmingham, AL.

Did they quit having the HH for a couple of years and restart it? My brother went down and shot it a couple of times. The John Hood shoot in Elberton, GA was another good one.
I had a few Widows over the years but first Schafer Silvertip did me in all other recurves.

As far as I know it's been ongoing at Tannehill since it started.

Didn't Jerry Hill run it for awhile? My first longbow was one he made. The HH bows beat his in a walk.

I thought there were more traditional archers here? As VA Nimrod mentioned, I also need some space to shoot. I bought (and still own) a nice little long bow about 10yrs ago. Coming from a compound I was instantly amazed and delighted how light, simple, and FUN a long bow was. No clutter to look past and through, so I could easily watch the arrows' flight. Sadly, I'd have some really, really good accuracy days, then some that just plain sucked. And for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what I was doing different to create the change. Ultimately I never felt ethical about trying to hunt with a long bow. And the hunting around here is tough enough that even the really good traditional guys run a fair chance of not filling a tag. Anyway, I'd like to pick up my bow again, but I guess I'm too lazy to drive out of town for the daily practice it takes to really get good.
