This one's on the M70 .25-06, I kind of like how it turned out:

Not bad at all. What colors and paint did you use?

Krylon flat camo paints. Olive for the under-layer, then layed some cedar sprigs and pine needles on top and sprayed with khaki.

Acetone is your friend. Here's what mine looked like a few days ago:

not to be contrary, but I like the BEFORE pattern better...

You contrary SOB......

seriously, to each his own. One of the reasons I re-painted was that the old paint was kind of slick. The stock is a black McMillan Hunter with some texture molded in and the old paint was too thick, ruined the texture.

With just a thin spray of the krylon, it's still very "grippy" now, so that's a definite improvement no matter how it looks.

Well then, obviously you need to paint that ugly thing.

Just kidding.

Both look good. I think I like the dullness of the new pattern better.
Is this one of those .270 vs 30'06 threads?

smokepole -

The new paint job is very subdued - looks GREAT!

Thanks, I hope to go to Wyoming for a pronghorn hunt this fall and I was shooting for a good sagebrush look.

I thought a coyote hunter'd like it.

I like the after paint job. I have an ugly vanguard I will be doing something similar with at some point.

Nah! Its the bone stock black synthetic and blue from the factory. Its a '06 too btw. Have yet to take the stock from the action. Honestly its so frickin' accurate as is I don't want to mess with anything and may just paint the stock with the rifle all together.
