What is your favorite, while keeping the cost below $200 a bottle?

It depends on the style you like. Highland Park 18 is outstanding, and a lot less than $200.

My favorite, too. McClellan's Highland is purty good (for around $20) if you drink in quantities, which I don't anymore . . .
Someday I hope to be the person my dogs think I am . . . The only true cost of having a dog is its death. Someone once said "a nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves." Shiloh Sharps . . . there is no substitute. NRA Endowment Member

Also since I've been checking out different ones, I've noticed that sometimes the younger scotches can be more expensive than the older ones, is there a reason why?

Really depends on my mood (and what cigar I'm smoking).
- Glenfarclas 12 - Dalwhinnie - Glenfiddich 15 (Solera Aged) - Glenkinchie 12 (Lowlands)
I'm becoming more tolerant of intolerant people.

Glenfarclas, now there's a lesser known brand that puts out a very fine malt.

Lagavulin yes, but not just.
I like Caol Ila 12 years old very much :
- peaty without excess - very aromatic and complex nose - well structured mouth, with no bite whatsoever: despite a strong character, it is on of the sweetest malts on the palate
The quality is outstanding and the value is unbelievable.
Is it too ambitious or too naive to look for an honest politician? Or simply a useful one?

I think it should be a campfire rule that whosoever creates a "what is your favorite scotch" post is responsible for supplying all respondents with a scotch buffet in order to verify that they still feel the same way considering all the responses.
Could we get a lawyer to draw up the documents?
