Updated Firefox this evening and so far in the past 8 hrs it has crashed 16 times! Anyone else have this problem or is it just me and my lousy Acer laptop and *^$$#^&% Windows Vista?

How can it be anything else, you already state that Firefox is crap.

Uninstall Firefox. Reboot the machine. Download a new copy of Firefox. Install it. The problem will go away.

Used Firefox for years, Vista as well - can count the # of crashes on one hand.

Or, uninstall FF, use IE, and don't worry about that crap.. Since I got rid of FF I've had no problems...

But, YMMV..

Firefox frequently crashes for me. I think it's related to the add-ons that I use.

IE is complete crap... It's slow and it's full of holes that you need virus protection to fill. Microsoft sells a flawed product and the public buys and uses it because it owns a large percentage of the market.
Firefox with Adblock Plus is the way to surf...

Zero crashes EVER with Firefox and ADP. On FOUR computers in this household (all running XP).

When 99.99% of people using a product have no problems, that product is not crap.

Sometimes, a new upgrade of any software will not mesh with old settings. Change things back to their defaults (make a list of what you change), reboot and then change things back one at a time. You'll find the conflict.

Bart, if you think you don't need virus protection with FF, I think you'll be singing a different tune in the near future... laugh laugh

IE's not perfect by any means.. If you're having 'slow' issues, check your start menu and delete a bunch.. Amazing how that speeds things up.. Hehehehee..

Have to pretty much agree with Bro and RR. Firefox is the only way to surf. IE sucks green donkey deeks. I think Acer makes a decent computer too.

Okay poor choice of words. FF may not be crap, BUT I am having major issues with crashes and freeze ups. Good virus protection, uninstalled FF, reinstalled and guess what? Four crashes in 5 min. Must be my computer....

PM Les and ask him about it. I expect he can straighten you out. FWIW I don't care one way or the other about you putting FF down. No browser is perfect and I don't own Mozilla. heeeheeehehee

Have Firefox on two PC's with WXP and three Mac's. I have never had a problem.

I have Firefox on my personal 'puter, but am stuck with IE here at work. The main advantage to FF IMHO is that it allows me to block that idiot 17Ackleybee's flashing avatar.

IME most of the problems encountered with new FF installs are caused by out-of-date plug-ins. Updates to the latest Flash, Java, and deletion of old ActiveX controls usually makes the hangups disappear...

I run FF at home but IE on my laptop when away. Had to block all Avatars because of Ackleybee. I also pass right on by anything he has to say. miles
