Normal for them to be pulling this off.
I had a custom Leupold M1 dial made up based on their advertised BC. No sooner had I received the dial in the mail they changed the BC.
I hate when they do this.

Yeah, I still have to give Berger/Litz props for innovation, research, geared to improve LR performance. and the integrity to tell it like it is regarding BC, nose slumps, etc.

As much as I am a fan of high BC I could accept that....structural failures at 2800 fps makes that a one pony bullet right there. Even if they are very very accurate there will be better choices all things considered.
I guess they better get back to the drawing board. At least we will not be waiting 3 years for new and improved Bergers....I hope.
Sometimes things just do not work out as planned despite every effort to the contrary. I am guessing that we are seeing one of those situations.

This really does suck, I just got a box of 250 day before yesterday to try in my 338 Lapua IMP. and that is the specific cartridge Bryan Litz says they wont work in.
Going from a .891 B.C. to a .818 B.C. is one hell of a mistake! TF'd by Berger again anybody want to buy this box ????? B

Well I hope they get it straighten out. I was really starting to get a little bummed out having about 1300 300 SMKs sitting around, but I'm feeling much better now

This happens all the time over years that I've been shooting, its why I'm never naive enough to believe posted figures. Before I'd invest in things monetarily that are tied to BC figures, the first thing I do( which is about the first thing I do once I get a decent load anyway) is to shoot with 2 chronos so we get either a 900 and 15 foot reading or an 1800 and 15 foot reading and calculate my own figures. I hope they can figure out the pressure problem, but I guess thats another reason that I just mostly shoot monolithics... and deal with their BC issues.

Read the report... says in rounds like the 338 Lapua and larger the pressure is too high and the noses are slumping... causing lower BC, the other complaint is initial BC was advertised too high

joecool544,
I know the fealing. When Sierra came out with the .600 BC on the 300 grain .375 I had my K14 rebarreled with a 28 medium barrel.
Once I developed the load I got a few 3/8" groups at 100. when the distance increased, the BC's didn't pan out. Later Sierra change the BC to about .450.
Sometimes life is just not fair.
