Rifle Ruger (As Ruger M77270 said, tough, dependable and accurate)
Shotgun Browning (My Remington 870 3-1/2 serves my needs just fine but I shoot my buddys BPS better))
Pistol Ruger (have 3 Ruger revolvers, .22/.22WM Super Single Six stainless, .357 Mag Blackhawk stainless, 44 Mag Super Redhawk stainless)
Optics Burris (Like my Leupolds but have been buying BurrisFullfield IIs with Ballistic Plex reticles)
Blade/Knife Dont know, but like my Kershaw

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor polite, nor popular -- but one must ask, "Is it right?"

Scopes: Impossible to choose;competition has created too many great options today.

Ditto with the other categories as well.I've got my favorites but it varies among brands.Winchester,Remington, and Browning in more traditional shotguns like doubles and pumps, but who can't like a Bennelli in a semi-auto? grin

The only two handguns I have lusted after are a Smith&Wesson Kit Gun,and a Freedom Arms 454.If I wanted a handgun I would ask JWP to order it for me... grin

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Hunting rifle would be the "Model 70 Winchester pre-64 action"
Shotgun for hunting, would be the "Model 1100 Remington" Sporting Clays is the Weatherby Athena 12ga.
