I'm getting 2625 fps with factory Hornady 75 gr. match loads with great accuracy. Factory claims 2790 fps which I assume is out of a 24in. barrel. It's an Armalite 1/8 twist match/varmint barrel and I'm wondering if reloading with a different powder would gain any speed or if I'm looking to improve something that doesn't need it.

Hornady 75 bthps are that slow in a 20 inch because they are not designed to hold up to higher pressures. The amax is, the bthp will not.

You can gain speed, pretty much close to 2800 fps, but the accuracy will most likely be gone.

We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
