This is a nice .50 caliber TC Hawken that could arrive at your door for the measly sum of $298.68 shipped. (OK, forget the sixty-eight cents.)

Lots of pictures below. What you see is what you get. Fiber optic sights, no flaws in stock, lock and trigger are fine, bore has very light scattered freckling that might come out with a little steel wool.

I would have smiled MUCH more if it had been a flinter.Still a super price for a great gun.

PA really needs to legalize these to go along with flintlocks, and get rid of in-line season. I handload centerfire which is similar to shooting an in-line. Primitive season with these is ok but flintlock only sucks.

I get that jry444. If it were a flinter it probably wouldn't be for sale.

Actually, I'm selling a few of my caplocks with plans for a custom flintlock (.40 caliber Southern Mountain style stocked in cherry). But DANG, it's hard to let go of some of these.

I'm at the other end of the opinion scale WPAH. A few years ago Louisiana changed the two-week "Primitive" season to allow

Quote
" Single shot, breech loading rifles,.38 caliber or larger of a kind or type manufactured prior to 1900 and replicas, reproductions or reintroductions of that type rifle having an exposed hammer that use metallic cartridges loaded either with black powder or modern smokeless powder. All of the above may be fitted with magnified scopes."

Most people are now hunting with scoped NEF/H&R .444's or 45-70's during the "primitive" season. I would rather one week or "any muzzleloader" and one week of "flintlock only". Heck, our total gun season for deer is three months long, so there's no lack of hunting opportunity.

I don't want to turn this post into a debate on the pros and cons of lock types, but many, many of us in Pa. are quite happy with our flinter only season.
