storm rollin in... secure the camp & get in the dang tent. There is a photo bomber clown in every group I tell ya!! the little guy really didn't like the lightning & thunder, it was honestly a bit much & a lot too close to the tent. eener the camp dog found a safe place to wait out the storm.. hey Dusty, did you know your sleeping bag is a double wide? Better question... Did you know your sleeping bag went to the boundary waters?? Haa!!

Don't you ever slow down?
Dave--a huge thank you for making the effort, and taking the time, to do such a great job raising the kids, and keeping them all busy in the outdoors.
You're a pretty special dude...
I should have just bought a [bleep] T3...

I get that a lot... Hey rooster, it was a good time. But if I'm going to keep doing this I'm going to invest in a couple of kevlar canoes. I remember when my dad turned 40 and he said it was the best he's ever felt in his life as far as... fitness etc. I think dad was full of chit man!! Seriously, I can't do it like I used to. Well I can still do it all, but it aint as easy as it used to be that's for sure!

Pics are the next best thing to being there.
Of course, in this case second place is a LONG ways behind first.
Thanx for sharing.

Great pics Dave! Looked like lots of fun.
You will have to bring the crew down here and we could go canoeing down the Crow Wing and camp out. We have done that a couple times, it is very fun.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

Stan in SC Hi Stan, oh the girls aren't new to us The older girl with the fun goofy humor we call "Runs in darkness" for a mishap earlier this summer where she was actually running outside in the dark and she collided with a fence resulting in some stitches to her forehead & across her left eyebrow. This is chickenbuck camp member "Runs In Darkness" She's super ambitious, hard working & genuinely thrilled to go on these hardcore camping trips. All of the kids were just amazing on this trip with the portages and how they just dug in & grabbed the heavy packs & took off down the trail. This little girl is waiting for her camp name... I'm a bit hesitant as the right name isn't quite coming to me yet for this one. If we went off our last BWCA trip from 2 years ago we would have called her "Falls In Water" because ... well she just really falls in the water a lot!! These are my cousin's girls. Granddaughters of uncle dusty, nieces to Muffy. Their father is the dear family member & lifelong friend we all lost to a plane crash 3 years ago on the 28th of this month. Their older brother is and has been out of school for a year now and he is busy working long hard hours with a construction crew. He would have been with us if he wasn't busy working. They are part of our family, when we are all together it feels like just that, one big family. We enjoy every moment we have with them and we are always a little heart broke when it is time for them to go home. We see them quite often, its just hard to see an adventure like we had last week come to an end. We look forward to the next trip with them and we will take advantage of every moment they care to spend with us now when they are so young and forever into the future.

Dave would probably throw his back out, pull a few muscles, run low on sleep and grow more gray hairs. These are my hobbies. lol!! If the rain ever stops I'll get the camp all cleaned up, grass mowed & we can have a bbq out there or something. It'll likely be blueberry season before things dry up out in the forest the way this rain has been coming.

Dave, i was out in the forest last week riding four wheelers for work and it was actually pretty dry for the most part out there. i was very surprised we didn't get into a lot of mud. some puddles on the trails here and there but it was very dusty out. It was a great ride. I think I even went past Chickenbuck!

Cheers Dave,
Another great "family" adventure & many more memories that can & will be shared into the future.
You're doing "it" right & doing it "good", man.
Kudos !
