No Sir, I don't have no guns. They all fell in the river what few I didn't sell. smile

I may could find a rattly old H&R topper single shot maybe but I doubt it. laugh

Why if some miscreant wanted to come in here I am sure all I could do would be cower under the bed and whine like a little girl. whistle

BCR

ps if I happen to forget and mention a gun it is because I forgot and it is one I USED to have. My mind is kind of foggy at times. grin

I also have a 45acp for truck defense, and a Sig 45 for me defense
Got another two or a dozen for some reaon or other. grin
Then I've got my hunting stuff.

Agreed, though I'd not want to be the schit-head that tried come into your home uninvited (whether you were home or not smile ).

I have bought a gun specifically for "home defense". It was bought for/with my wife in mind but I'm thinkin' she could put it to other uses as well.

I've always had plenty of suitables close to hand, but I bought a short, light .45 Colt specifically to be my "turret gun" whether I'm away from the house in a wheel chair or at home in a recliner. It kicks, bucks, and barks, but what's a little recoil and noise between adversaries?

No point. Just kinda hit me funny that when I searched the quote before you claimed it, the only hit was from a different user name/forum who was also in "The Boondock."

IF I can find a few reasonably priced revolvers when we finish spending on the house I have it in my mind we'll buy at least 5-6 to load and stash around the house just in case. They will have no other use at all.

Geeze Louise..all those horrible things you guys are thinking...you have no faith in the human condition...at 2:00AM if someone broke into my home I would just say "welcome friend please come into my home and what is mine is yours"...I don't believe in all that violence stuff...all my guns are locked up in the safe and safely unloaded...

I prefer the oldie about the Quaker who confronted with a shotgun a burglar in his house

"Friend, I would not harm thee for the world but thee are standing where I am about to shoot."

I really don't have any home defensive gun. I could get one of my ARs out of my hidden compartment. However, I do have a Model 500 SW in my dresser drawer. I guess that could be put into service. I also have about 500 year old 17 inch wakazaski in closet that would be an excellent goblin slicer. I know the old saying "don't take a knife to a gun fight" but it is owazamono class and would be much more controlled than the big smith.
I also have softball bats in every nook around the entry. handy but not noticeable to others.
I do believe that Rosie the pitbull- as old she is- would represent herself well. She has never bitten anyone but a disgruntled co-worker who was trying to vandalize my snowgo while I was at work. He was messing with the cover when she snuck up on him and bit him in the butt. He actually came back over to the school to complain that the dog had bitten him when he was trying to mess with my snowgo. I started laughing at him and while he threatened to sue me the trooper who was with me when it went down asked me if I wanted to press charges on him.

Sincerely,
Thomas

Yeah, my old Browning A5 can be used as a defense weapon. So can my Remington 521t bolt .22 rifle.
However, since I have a high value placed on my life, I have certain rifles, shotguns and handguns whose attributes are optimized to defending same.
I'll take the M4 Carbine over the single shot 20 Ga any day. laugh
+ 1 on the M-4 When we moved here 20yrs ago we did not need to be concerned but its not that way anymore. My son turned 21 today 1st item on his agenda is a carry permit.
