Hey kids. I'm still alive and kicking. Not really settled into the house yet. We were there for 5 days, then went on vacation for 10 or so. Lived out of a hotel for 5 days before we got into the house. Still no internet at the new place yet, so I'll have to beg steal and borrow a computer like I'm doing now from my sis...

This state is a sponge. it's rained almost every day I've been here. Not the same with the Badger state. They need some of the rain we got here, and I need to cut my grass.

The house isn't ready yet, but the shop is getting close. grin Momma's not reading this I hope. New air compressor soon, then the welder.

I'll catch up later dudes.

Tom

We got 6.2 inches of rain lastnight. Jeremy's cousin got 7.9 inches at their hunting shack by Toad Lake.

Yeah it was not good. Jeremy planted a bunch of grass yesterday morning and it is all washed out. He went through 2 big bags of grass seed. Now he has to push all the black dirt that washed out back up and do it all over again. It is a good thing that he took all this week off. smile

I hope you all had a good 4th of july weekend!!

On the way home from watching fireworks at our friends house, we stopped and talked to some of our neighbors. One was a lady in her 60's and she lost her mom in a house fire on the lake last year. I remember the fire, hearing all the sirens and of course you have to go and check it out. She decided to rebuild the house. It was very interesting talking to her. Her mom sang with Frank Senatra, and she was a nurse in the war (Vietnam I think). She remembers our other golden Lucky. I guess he would go and visit her and her mother often. She is very nice and she told us if we ever needed a dog sitter she would watch Dozer anytime. I'm sure she has many stories to tell about her mom. It sounds like she played piano and sang with other famous people. It is interesting that you have all these neighbors and never really see or talk to them, then you find out how one has actually sang and performed with famous people. Crazy.

No where near the rain fall you got Missy, but it's been raining here off and on since yesterday. Fireworks display had to be cancelled. They rescheduled for tonight, but it doesn't look to promising.

I broke up a fight between a buldog and my own black lab tonight.

in hindsite.... I think maybe I should have set my beer down and used both arms.

It turns out it's maybe not a one armed task, left arm ended up with some holes in it.

Honestly, I really could have handled that better if someone would have held my beer & watched.

grin

Stupid dogs.
