Hello new here to your forums, been lurking for awhile have made a post in the rimfire section.
Have a question concerning a 94 Trapper in .44mag that I'm going to look at this coming weekend. It was made in the early 80's and supposedly in near excellent condition. What would be a fair price and can I shoot ammo that was loaded for a Ruger Super Blackhawk through it. Never felt comfortable with these loads in my model 29 because if I put more than one in the cylinder there was no way I was pushing them out with the ejector.

Thanks a Bunch

The 94 is a solid little rifle, it's rated as safe for the buffalo bore ammo so should be safe with anything loaded within reasonable limits.
If you are worried about the bullets jumping their crimp then load a mag full, fire one, put another in the chamber and fire it then eject the rest and check them.

Thanks , I was concerned but felt if I could shoot them in a Ruger Super Blackhawk then a rifle should be able to handle it.

I'm not sure what a fair price would be, but I gave $325 for one that looked like it rolled outa the factory that morning about 5 years ago.

pre safety, I bought it to use as a truck, snowmachine, boat knock around gun but it was too pretty so i gifted it to my then 11 year old. I'd have bought 10-20 of them for that price in similar condition.

bought another one though chambered in .357 with the safety from the same guy a year later and gave it to the youngest boy.

still looking for one as a knock around piece, have one in .30-.30 for myself, but can't bear to beat it up. It serves as the home defense rifle.

How Do Ryszzard I have one of those little buggers and love it. The only ammo that I have used are factory 240gr soft point but they have gotten me and friends deer and a spike elk at inside 150yds. What moore could a person ask. I think I payed $285 in 1994.

KAWI.......does that refer in fact to Kawasaki? My wife still has her 1977 KZ650 which at the time I had modded into a solo seat arrangement and lowered a bit. She's a 5 footer.
I'm going to check out the 94 on Friday, hope it's as clean as stated.

They are asking ridiculous prices for them here since Winchester ceased to exist. The last one I bought at a Big-5 sporting goods was no more than about 6-7yrs back for about $295, or thereabouts.

Well I just got back from picking it up, as clean as stated and the wood even has some nice figure to it, Kicks a little more than I expected. Gave $350 for it, will take a couple pics of it tomorrow. All in all I'm a happy camper.

maarty.......you are correct and out of 4 forums where I posted that pic your the first person to catch that. I got that as a birthday present in 1970 also have a matching boot knife to keep it company. Strange how that piece of steel with no moving parts is worth more than the rifle.
model70man Thanks

Well that's three items you have that I'm envious of, the rifle and the two knives.

I have one more item that might add to that. A NIB Colt Sauer in .300 Weatherby, never fired never had a scope mounted. I'm really torn on that one, part of me wants to sell it whilst another part wants to get a really nice piece of glass for it and shoot it before my eyesight goes.

my pics aren't as good, but made me want to share my boys and a couple of my rifles.

1st one is son's trapper in .44 mag, no safety but in primo condition thus it being gifted to him rather than used as truck gun

2nd is the youngest boys trapper in .357, has the dang blasted safety, but still in primo condition and a good shooter.

couple of .30-30's of mine and a Marlin carbine to give the size perspective
