Azshooter,

Not if I would have come home to an empty house! I'm treading on thin ice as it is.

Congrats on your December draw, Enrique,

I'll be in 36C unit for the early Oct. hunt. My first choce was the same unit in Dec., but didn't draw it.

I wouldn't feel too bad about an October hunt as the deer are undisturbed up to that point. You just need to glass a little harder. Last year we saw more bucks than does during the October hunt.

Take lots of water and find shady spots from which to glass!

Agree. There are far worse things than hunting Coues in 36C Oct. It's what I've done for the past three years.

However,if I had a choice I'd rather be glassing them in 50 - 60 degree weather at the start of the rut, than in 95 degree weather. Nonetheless, glad to be out there.

I've already staked my claim on a certain mountainside mesquite tree I'll be sitting under each day. smile

There are far worse things. Been hunting the 36's and 36c mostly for 30 years now and some years the October hunts are actually cooler than the November hunts.
Have a great hunt. I'll be there in October as well (1st choice).

41!

It is not enough to fight for natural land and the west; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it's still there. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends...
