I love it when a good plan comes together. Been patterning a largish boar for about 3 weeks--he's been regular--averaging 5 days out of 7 for the morning and evening feed. Finally got all my chores done and headed out this morning. Got in the stand at 5:50 and settled in. Woods lightened up about 6:15 and at 6:55 he showed up-5 minutes before the feeder was to spin.

He was goosey, and wouldn't stay still, herky-jerky, in circles, wouldn't go to the feeder, but finally settled down at 20 yds broadside and I stuck him. Heard the arrow smack but thought it was too far back as he took a step as I released, or jumped the string. At any rate as I watched him run off I could see no arrow in him. Waited 15 minutes, got down, and walked to where he was standing--no arrow in the ground, but he left a "Stevie Wonder" blood trail of about 80 yds. When I got within 20 yds of him, couldn't see him but could smell him, so knew he was down. Arrow did hit him in the flank, just in front of his hams--don't know what I hit-probably a kidney or major artery. 193 lbs plus the blood trail.
