Thinking about a 3 screw 41.......
Humid here, and it may get to Alaska, and I hate rust.
Thanks.

I bought a like new custom Delta Elite 10mm that had the frame treated with NP3. From my perspective it is way too soft, and scratches easily, kind of like the teflon coating of a pan. One of the selling points of NP3 is the lubrication qualities. I can see that for a pistol, but if it were me I would have your BH brushed or matt chromed by Accurate Plating and Weaponry or another reputable company. http://www.apwcogan.com/

I have a 45 Colt with a Metalife finish and am pleased. I think it would be ideal for your application. http://www.mahovskysmetalife.com/

Yes it will. An internet deal I found. A full blown line bored 5 shot by Larry Crow. The grips have since been replaced with walnut as has the rear sight with a Bowen. I have not cranked her up yet and suspect I won't as there is no need. Just wanted a well put togther 45 Colt.

The NP3 is electroless nickle, with the addition of Teflon. I live in Robar territory. I agree with the poster who felt it's too soft. I'm am a HUGE fan of hard-chrome, and the work of APW or Metalife is top-notch.
Congrats on your find!

Ive had it on several of my carry guns and never had an issue with it. The decision for me was easy as they are local and I could drop it off. Even if I did have an issue with teh finish I could take it back and have it fixed(which I never had to do) Its corrosion resistance outstanding.

A few years ago, I had Robar put their NP3 finish on my SA 1911. I have been quite pleased with the looks and durability of the NP3. I'd recommend it to anyone.

On a single action, no. but I had one of my HK's done by Robar years ago. The externals in Rogaurd and all the internals in NP3. 12 years later it still looks like it was just done. Both finishes are fantastic and yes the NP3 does slick things up a bit internally. can't say I'd opt for the externals on a single action done in the NP but the Rogaurd...YES! Were it me, I'd Rogaurd what you can see and NP3 the internals. Both will protect against the elements.

From a asthetics standpoint the Roguard will look better.
