I'm no gunsmith but I don't think you are gonna be able to cut out that bolt for the sako, take the "claw" off and make it work. The whole idea of using the mauser action is crf. Go to a Sako extractor, and you lose that.

It's a 6.5 x 55 on a G33/40 Mauser action (built for the mountain troops) with 1909 Argentine bottom metal and stocked in Turkish walnut. Good luck with your planning. I don't mean this to be insulting, but your statement about the Sako extractor leads me to believe that you are probably lacking a lot of knowledge that I would consider indispensible to having a rifle built. Getting advice and opinions from others is a great idea and is part of the process that is enjouable, but in the end it's your rifle and you have to be the one to make the decisions. I advise you to spend a lot of time reading here and on other forums so that you can understand how rifles perform, are different from each other, etc. This way when you do build a rifle you're much more likely to be happy with it and truly appreciate it. How does a 264 Mauser with walnut stock, screw the fluted barrel, blued barrel, with a Bushnell 4-12x42 Nikon Pro Staff sound? I am sorry about all my little screw ups, like the extractor, scope mount, blah blah. I didn't have my head into the project. I cleared my mind and re-thought my plan. Sorry again. I will never mess up again!
