Kinda frustrated. Bought a Tikka Lite SS for cheap ($400) brand new in box. Heard all the great accuracy stuff, and yeah it shoots a tiny group every once in a while, but I can't get anything consistent out of it. Started with RL-17 and then moved to H4831sc under a Hornady 140 SST. I thought I had it figured out playing with seating depth, but went back out today and it was two shots in one hole with the third going over an inch. 200yd targets were three inches or so. Brand new Leupold 3.5-10 CDS in Talley LW, weighed the brand new brass, Fed primer, UBC'd the bore. Gonna clean it first, then change scopes, after that I'm stumped. Any advice?
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

Sounds like a stock issue to me. Something is touching something it shouldn't be.

Bedding is good. Shooting with the front rest backed up pretty far so its not resting way out front. I've tried a few other bullets in 130, thinking I need to try some 150s, although they are not what I would like to shoot.

Hows the crown look? I've no exp. with the SST's but found RL22 to be a great 270 powder, try that with some of the 130's, esp with the Sierra's or Hornady SP's.

57.8 of 2213 SC with a magnum primer gave me half minute groups out to 300 in the T3 Lite I sold last year with 140gn SST. rob

Hig,
You might want to try undertaking a primer test using as the best shooting load you have to date.
Good luck,

Well, it's guaranteed. If it doesn't shoot, send it back.

The easiest and cheapest thing to try is a primer swap. My .270 Win shows a clear preference for Federal BR primers over CCI BR primers for instance...to the tune of about 3/4 inch difference at 100.
Since you already tried Federal primers, you might try CCI, Win, or Rems.

Thanks fellas. Will give that a try. Have a .223 that hates everything but the CCI so should have thunk of it.
