Thanks for the compliments. Nope, the Gemsbok was a bull. I was lucky enough to take him in May of 2004. We were hunting in the Northwest province of South Africa near the Botswana border. He went 42" x 41 7/8" and the bases were 8 7/8 x 8 6/8. He is without question the best African trophy I have taken.

Wow! I've got to come by and see that monster sometime.

GV,

Shotgunning is an art, especially when they fly to the water holes at dusk in a Vee formation. If you can pick off the last one in line, the others don't spook. wink

Ok, here's some of mine.

These were from the Limpopo Province of South Africa in 2000.

All were shot with a 7mm Rem mag shooting 140 gr Ballistic Tip handloads. All but the Waterbuck were one shot kills.

I then went to Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa for these guys shot with my .375 RUM or my 7mm Rem mag shooting 160 gr Accubonds.

My last trip to Africa was to the Eastern and Southern Cape regions where I shot these animals with my .375 Ultra mag and 270 gr TSX handloads.
These are the ones from the Eastern Cape.

And finally, my animals from the Southern Cape region of South Africa in 2007. They were all shot with my .375 Ultra mag and 270 gr TSX bullets.

I was afraid the .375 RUM would be too much gun for this Cape Grysbok, so I borrowed a .308 Win and a FMJ bulllet for him.
