Yeah the blue one is a donor truck for the yellow truck. Blue truck is giving up fenders, doors, grill, box, seat & maybe a few misc pieces here & there.

The body parts from the blue truck arent perfect, I will use patches cut from good rust free areas on the yellow truck's retired sheetmetal to repair little rust issues on the blue truck fenders & doors.

I started a project thread down in the truck section on the forum here.

The cab will stay on the yellow pickup frame, the cab itself needs some repairs too, cab corners, floors and forward lower door post area, kick panels... she's ate up like most "bump side" fords are.

Sounds like another major project Dave. Maybe you can talk Tom into helping. Sounds like he's pretty good with the nibblers.

That'd be me. I've posted twice on the campfire before this, both times on this thread.
I've been following the thread since day one.
It really struck a chord with me, as I lost my two best hunting buddies. My Uncle in Sept 2007 and my Grandfather in Aug 2008.
I've moved away from where I grew up hunting and am learning new areas (with MUCH less public land and much higher population than I'm used to) with no friends or family who hunt, so I'm trying to find places to hunt and people to hunt with. I really envy what you guys have created there. Not the cabin, or the stands, or the land, but the sense of family.

Good luck to you all.

Paul

was gone for a day and you guys moved 3 pages on me. gol-dang-er anyway it is hard to keep up around here.

i havent decided if i should get the prescription altitude meds or not. i didnt have any problems at 10,500 feet a couple years ago.

Yep Griz, I have been working out at the YMCA. One lesson learned the hard way: the machine where you sit on it and the weight is on the inside of your legs and you start wide and bring your legs together? You know the one that really works your groin muscles? that one? yeah, dont overdue that one. sick Seriously, do less than half of what you think, no matter how manly you think you are. I have now realized that typing on the 'fire does nothing for my groin muscles apparantly. confused it was not pretty for a few days.

the fire is building inside that is for sure. it is only at the inferno size now, but it is growing.

Highest I've hunted is probably just under 10,000 ft. I usually always do fine but one year I had trouble, got sick & came down to our base camp for a day which was 7500 ft or so. A little rest and I was as good as new, charged the hill the next day & packed meat & gear off with the rest of the crew. At that point I was in noticably better shape than they were in.

I was at the doc last week for a pre hunt check-up. He gave me a Rx for diamox. He said if I start getting the symptoms take the pills for a few days and I should be fine. He claimed one key was to spend a night a mid elevation prior to going up high.

BM, my buddy has a stair stepper that he excercises on for Colorado. He claims it beats anything else he's tried. They camp at around 10K feet, but hike down into a canyon to do most of their hunting.

He starts the Diamox a week befor he leaves and takes it all the time he's there.

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.
