I was wondering if marlin does, or used to rebarrel. I have a 44mag 1894 and wish it had a new Ballard rifled barrel with the fast twist.

Any one ever ask them to rebarrel one of their lever actions before?

Of course I know that asking marlin is the way to go but I am wondering if they are a little busy right now.

They have re-barreled in the recent past.

I had a 444 Marlin rebarreled from Microgroove to Ballard about 10 years ago; they didn't even charge me for it.

If you dont mind waiting for a year to get it done, thats what was quoted to me for a M39 re-barrel. they have bbls and refuse to sell them. I will reline mine, you might try IT&D and see what they will do for you.

I needed the barrel on the 336CS 35 Rem. my dad bought me when I was 15 turned/tighened just a tad to line the front site up with the rear reciever scope mount hole so I could use XS Ghost Ring sites. I sent my rifle back to Marlin about 18 years after I got it. About a month later they sent me a new rifle. The new rifle has barker wood and the cut checkering on the pistol grip and fore arm. Now I can use the ghost ring sites!
