I just went by the warehouse to pick up some bullets, and wandered over to the gun rack. I noticed a Tikka with a fluted barrel and asked to handle it.
Apparently they have an exclusive deal with Tikka to sell this rifle. It's a T3 lite in every other way except the fluted barrel of course. I believe the chamberings were .270, 30-06, and 300 Win. Weight is listed as 5.8 lbs.
Thought I'd pass it along in case anyone is considering pulling the trigger on a Tikka in the near future.

Can anyone tell me about the T3's "fiberglass reinforced copolymer" stock? I sounds better than the Remington tupperware stock but how much better? Do most serious Tikka owners yank off that stock and buy a McMillan?

It is a molded stock no doubt, but I don't care I love it. It is a great design and relatively stiff.

I know a lot of T3 shooters here in Mt and don't know a single person who's restocked them..these guys are too serious of hunters to be farting around with restocking.. Dober

The T3 stock is very stiff if a bit loud when branches rub on it.

BTW, does McMillan even make a stock for the T3?
With the stock mounted recoil lug and all?

I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Is that the same cowboy who has added the redneck palm swell to his rigs with duck tape... Dober

Also the same one who almost glued a high-dollar trigger group into his rifle with expanding foam..

Friction grip tape Dober, c'mon get with the program buddy.....(grin)
I heard some dumbass used that spray foam on a Sako 85 stock. Apparently it oozed into the trigger housing and made one helluva mess. Damn idiot.....(laughin'!)
Loco beat me to it.
Pretty sure I'll find you a nice 11" goat for bringing this up!

I figured there was a McMillan available, didn't even know that. The stock has some interesting lines and hearing that it works fine is encouraging. So many rifle offerings these days require quite a bit of customizing.

With the stock mounted recoil lug and all? This is right from Ryan at McMillan-- The stocks we inlet for the T3 are the sako classic, hunter and varmint, A2, Adj A3-5 and A5. I'm in for two, and glad. It's about time a quality stock builder started inletting for Tikka's.
I should have just bought a [bleep] T3...

Dober i can think of several things that i would do differently if i ran tikka's shop... but i don't, and it's hard to argue with the way they shoot....

What did the price tag say? (usually one of the first things I look at) I just went by the warehouse to pick up some bullets, and wandered over to the gun rack. I noticed a Tikka with a fluted barrel and asked to handle it.
