Loaded or as components? I haven't used either, but have used the 7-08 factory Fusion. I'd sure like to have the bullets for loading.

I was looking at them on gunbroker yesterday. Haven't tried them yet. A friend of mine has a friend who uses nothing but factory Winchester 64gr ammo. He said the deer DRT. I've shot these out of my AR and my Model 7 Stainless. The 7 handles the 64gr right around an 1" or less at 100 yards. Kind of hard to find them. Purchased them from Midway when they have them in stock.

Bought some of these at a gunshow a month ago for $10.00/100 and the guy said they knock the hell out of deer. I'm waiting to hear what others have experienced with this bullet and the .223. Will the 1 in 12 twist even stabilize this bullet??
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

BSA, the 64gr powerpoint mentioned by steelhead will run from most 1-12 without a problem, very good overall load for the .223, cannot imagine the fusion would do a bad job though.
Confirm you got the fusion for $10/100?

Thanks varmintsinc, was waiting for a while for an answer. Yep on the fusion 64 grain bullets for $10.00/100. I thought it was a good deal but have been worried about my rifle stabilizing the bullet because of the twist rate. I only bought 200 bullets because of this concern. I'm thinking one of these at around 3000 will do an excellent job on deer. Thanks again, BSA

Yea I shot a 90lb Spike last Fall with the 62gr Fusion out of my .223. He ran about 30yds and fell over dead. Pass-through from about 60yds quarter sized exit. Blood on the ground if I'd had needed to track him. [img:center] [/img] Good accuracy too. Brett (Mac)

Sounds perfect BrettOOMac, thanks for posting your experience. I'll load up some of these 64 grain fusions pretty soon and see what kind of accuracy I get.

I have taken several with the 64 gr Winchester Power Points. From a 105 lb doe to a 165 lb buck. No long shots were taken (the longest was about 85 yards), and I was careful with placement, but had very little in the way of tracking when all was said and done. I would not have thought the 223 to be adequate for deer a few years back, but I have changed my mind after the past two seasons. All shots taken completely passed through leaving good sign for tracking, had that been needed. I have been way more impressed with the 223 and the PP's than I thought I would be.

I am going to give it a try with the Federal Premiums with the 60gr. Nosler Partition and see how it goes.

Search worked! This thread sealed the deal.
I've been mulling a box of the Fusion 62s at a local big time sporting goods store for $24.99 to use in my 1-8 AR. Got some 53 TSX loaded for my boy's .22/250, but too dang lazy to put together some in .223s before next Saturday.
Have bitched at several clueless countermen at other area SG stores about no "deer suitable" ammo in .223 or .22/250 and we've been "any centerfire caliber" for four years. So Dick's will get my $25 plus sales tax.
Have watched my son kill a couple does with a Colt HBAR LW and Hornady TAP 75 gr. (kinda unimpressive tissue damage/ but they died), now it's Dad's turn with his 1-8 AR and want a lighter turnkey solution.

Got 'em today. The spousal unit saw how cute the little rounds were and said "you know, if you'd get a ground blind so I didn't have to get up in a tree, I might go shoot a deer with you."
There's magic in them Fusions, I tell ya, and I ain't even busted the first cap!
