So I started my brass tumbler this morning (vibratory kind) when I got up and completely forgot about it.

That was 6 hours ago and I am at work, I am guessing it shouldn't be a problem but I won't be home for a few more hours.

Just wondering if I should be worried that the thing will burn down my house?

I'll probably just come home to really shinny brass but just has me a little worried.

Mine is a Lyman as well.

I hate leaving anything running when I am not home. Dishwasher, Dryer, etc..

That's funny. That would have worried me the entire trip if I had realized it when I was a couple hundred miles from home.

I have a Midway one, over 15 years old and I leave it running at night all the time.

I prefer on a timer. And to be around at all times when utilities are running.
I bet you will have the prettiest brass ever.

Apparently there was a product recall on Midway vibratory tumblers due to the motor overheating leading to fires. Since learning of that, I run my tumbler on the concrete floor of my garage. I have forgotten about it and let it run all night, I now run it with a timer.

My wife is absolutely phobic about leaving anything on when leaving the house, she will shut of the coffee maker to go water her flowers!

Mine was recalled many years ago & I think they may have just replaced the cord, but it may have been the motor, too. I ran it for hours straight, or overnight, before and after the recall, but never on any surface that would catch fire.

Thanks for letting us know. I'll keep that in mind from now on.

Mine is a Midway, at least 14 tears old. Generally let it run for 3 or 4 hours but often times CRS sets in and I find it still running on Sunday morning and it was turned on Thursday afternoon. Yup, Ray Charles would have to squint . . . well, ya know, if he . . .
