I bet a mess of grouse breasts cooked in cream of mushroom in a crockpot and smothered over mashed potatoes with a side of corn on the cob and greenbeans and cheese would make for a good meal. pour a few beers over it and kick back in a chair with a toothpick. mmmmmm good!

you bring the grouse and we'll do it!

I have a bunch of elk roast left from last year, I guess we could substitute that

I can see this now in oh about 10 years,

Weezy will be the new Chick'n buck cruise director,

RWS will be in charge of stand engineering and trail busting,

PWM and Mini T, will grudgingly be following some instructions on camp chores while eyeing the tractor, ATV's, Ol'Browny etc.

Pam will play the peace maker when the boys dont follow the cruise directors instructions.

While Dave, T-Zone, and Ryan will be completeing the Uncle Dusty instructed secrets of nonsupervisory supervision of young bucks.

Buschy may be in hiding from the BATFE and whatever letters they add by then for his secret crapolade recipe.

Roosters still gonna be figgering out how his truck got stuck on the road.

Muffy will be heading game camera editing and merchandising.

CBF will finally be done with school and moving his way up the ladder of Chick'n buckery.

Uff da, that be a busy place der.

Ok you guys,

Just thinking through your weekend plans & I'd like to propose something much more fun !

How about you all make the short trip, north of the border, & visit my place.

Don't really know what we could do, 'cept maybe cut & split 8 cord of firewood !

Really, I'll supply beer !

Paul.

I may be heading south of the cities with a boat for my relatives who are getting flooded out. Pine City is about blocked off, sounds like Owatonna, Albert Lea, and anything south and east of them is in trouble.

Actually I love running the chainsaw, but then I dont have to do it forever either. Seems like once you get your groove it goes quick.

Look at it this way get it done, have some cold ones, and be happy knowing that when season comes your all ready and dont have to worry about it anymore.

Besides I thought you had teenagers, doesnt that mean you just do the heavy supervising?

Been raining here since about 8:00 last night. The last report I've seen was at 11:00 this morning and we passed the 5 inch mark. Several state highways are closed and a number of county roads were washed out.

Weather man says we have anywhere from a 1/2 to 2 inches more on the way. Yea! mad

Yeah, the boy (14) will help & so will Deb, my wife.

Caroline (sweet 16 Princess) will definitely pass !!

Yeah, I do enjoy it too. My plan was to get it done in a weeks worth of afternoons, say 6 till dark, so we could have the weekends free to shoot some birds & attend to stands etc. However, it has rained every afternoon so far this week.

Good looking stuff there Paul. I'm with BD. I love running a chainsaw, hell, I'll even split it for ya, but just don't have me stack it.

We used to heat our house with wood when I was a kid. I wasn't old enough to do anything but stack it. Cords, and cords of it. grin

I don't mind a little cabin stackin, but dang I hate putting it up for the winter.
