Only "funny money" to the man that doesnt own it. If any here would have known years ago when this 7mm hit the shelves what it would be selling for today, truth is ..... you would own 10 of em. You wouldnt be roflyao, you'd be rofit$$!! No way is it a glorious pre-mil, but that's beside the point.

Not doing the math but my guess is, had you simply put that same amount of money in a Dow Jones based fund, you would have more... that is almost always true of gun collecting... unless you are like Lauren and Jed and are buying low and selling high, you can not ACTUALLY justify collecting guns as a GOOD investment... that said... I use it all the time... tell Jackie... "it could be worse, I could be buying things that depreciate like new cars or TVs or WORST OF ALL: A BOAT"

there is one for sale right now listed at 1800 starting bid with no bids on it... as for shill bidding... does not really bother me much...decide what you are willing to pay, bid, walk away... if the shill bidder wins, the seller has issues to deal with... I'll admit to having been pulled into some level of bidding wars before but for the most part these days, I know what I think something is worth (to me) and there is almost always another one out there... I remember the first time I saw some of the rarer models for sale, boy seems like I would pay about anything for some... but I get excited easily

Just continues to crack me up that people keep confusing what they would pay for a gun as the value of a gun.
I have no interest in owning a 99 in 7mm-08, I'd only buy one cheap to flip it for some fast cash.
Somebody is going to pay $1800 for that gun. It won't be me. But if somebody pays $1800 for it...that makes it an $1800 gun, don't it?
