I saw Clapton in concert a couple times in the 80s. They had the big screen up and zoomed in on him during a couple 8-10 solos. I'll tell you what, there were times when his fingers were a dang blur. And it wasn't the sidestream THC either.

I did nothing but seriously study guitar for around 5 years. Broke down a lot of Clapton's stuff during that time. He doesn't do anything fancy at all - it's all pretty meat and potatoes stuff. But it's the way he plays it that's positively brilliant. The man has a true artist's touch.

Way too many to name them all-not good with the names anyway-just know what I like when I hear it. And too many different styles-hell, too many different kinds of guitars.
Can we talk a little slide guitar? I never get tired of Ry Cooter. He really did go down to the Crossroads and sell his soul.

I've listened (and seen) way too many, and have too varied an interest in music to every pick one. Maybe ten.......
.... Could you imagine where Stevie would be professionally today had he not boarded that helicopter? I was there, just up the road from here, for his last concert with the Slowhand.
Bassists? I love bass guitar-though I have never heard of your pics, Sean. May have to give those a listen.
One of my favorite Bassists is Geddy Lee(Rush) and another(don't laugh) is Dave Harris of Iron Maiden.
Steve Harris is one of the best. The backbone of Maiden.Every see his hand in the Run To The Hills video. Not many can play bass that fast and sound good while doing it.
