I'd seen it before but didn't notice a couple of questionable statements (NOT on Savage .45): seems to imply that the SAA was in .38 Colt at time of Phillipine troubles (It wasn't.) and also states that there were 200K Colt 1903 Hammerless autos that went to "military customers." I know that both the US and British militaries bought SOME of these (I've seen several with US Property markings that went to the Brits Lend Lease)....but 200K?
Otherwise interesting article worth keeping. BTW, did the US or British military ever purchase any SAVAGE .32s or .380s? I've seen French and Portugese marked ones, but never one with the "flaming bomb".

No US or British military 32's or 380's so far as I know. There are some British proof marked pistols around but not military. John

I have held a Canadian military marked Savage pistol. I believe it was a 1907. I don't remember the caliber as the pistol belonged to a friend. It went to a Canadian collecter. I can find out details if anyone's interested as my friend remembers every gun he's ever owned.

That gun would probably be stamped with a Canadian broadarrow. About 500 or so were supposedly sent to Canada for use by police or possibly military. They were in 32 cal. John
