my attempt didn't pan out but I went nutz checking owner's and sites to get the low down on these...what I found...no complaints if they fit your hand...good luck, they seemed like VERY nice small .45ACPs...

You'll find a lot more by going to smith-wessonforum.com, to the semiauto forum, and searching on CS45 or such. I think they're generally considered reliable.

Cool idea. Is it a double action only? Which way does the thumb safety operate?

DA/SA, Down is safe on Smiths.

Does that say "Made in Philipines" on the front of the slide?

I found this thread on smith-wessonforum.com. That exact same photo is claimed to be an airsoft gun:

http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-...9323-chief-special-cs45-airsoft-gun.html

Which makes sense because I would have bet serious money that every Smith auto was made in the USA.

But it sure looks like a real gun.

Interesting. Wonder why they have it pictured with real .45 ACP rounds next to it instead of little white balls.

It sure does, but the phillips head screw in the grip kinda jumps out.

Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense.
