I would go with a nice 3-9x40 scope, nikon, burris, leupy something along those lines. this morning about 6am as I was leaving the field I saw a bunch of eyes across a drainage ditch, so I swung the lights, there was a nice 10 pointer with about 6 or 7 does/fawns around him, like an elk with his harem. the only thing I could think of was how nice a rack like that would feel in my hands.

I would go with a nice 3-9x40 scope, nikon, burris, leupy something along those lines. The more scopes I have, the more I really, really like Leupolds. I'm not a fan at all of my nikon. I have a Burris FFII 1.75x5 and it doesn't turn my crank either. In fact, I'd be willing to sell them both is anyone is interested.

If it's the burris, you'll have to wait until after deer season because it's on my gun right now. Probably $75 or so for the Nikon, I have the box for that one. I'd be willing to listen though. Don't really know what the burris is worth. I've never looked. It's a decent scope, just not what I want.

I love Nikons and Leupolds, my oldest boy took possession of my Leupy 2x7 for his .257 Roberts awesome woods rig, my youngest who is only allowed to shoot from the stand and took his first deer last year has a straight 6 Nikon Monarch on his .243, and my go to .280 rifle has had the same Nikon Prostaff 3x9 for many moons.
All of them have worked wonderfully for everything from close in thick woods to open fields and plains, with no problems.

You got it. Remind me again later though. In case I didn't tell you, it's a 2x7x32. I think I have dust covers around too. They are not the see-thru type though, just covers. Nobody wants that dang Burris.

I was looking for a .243 for my daughter, but if I found a nice .257 R I'd get it. There is a shop in town that has a Ruger MKII in .257 but they want 6 bills for it. Dang thing didn't cost that new.

Bring the burris. Someone will buy it.
Sounds like a nice one for a yellowboy 9422M .22 magnum....

Heading to mom and dad's now. Will probly post tonight what we ended up getting. Later.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

Sounds like a nice one for a yellowboy 9422M .22 magnum.... It's great for that. I'll be bringing the burris, but you can't have it until after hunting season. It's on the gun I'm using and too late in the game to take it off. I'll bring it up for muzzy season, you can check it out then. Would that work?

I was thinkin of a scope for my 30-30, think the 1.75 would be better? its got a 3-9x40 simmons on it now, and it works but I don't know if I need all that for the 30-30. the only reason I put a scope on it is because my eyes don't focus on the sights nearly like they used to. either way bring em up and we'll figure somethin out

T if your looking for a Ruger UL .257 just like mine, there was one for sale up here last week. I have to look for it again either at one of the pawns or Gander Mountain. As I dont recall exactly where I fondled it. Weekend gun crawl without the momma lets you look around and longer .

BD, it will be a while before I seriously look. She needs some trigger time on the .22lr first. If I bought that Ruger UL, she could borrow if from me.

Show & tell, new to me M70 CRF in 300 win mag. Excellent condition. old model Burris Fullfield 3-9 on there in amazing condition as well. Not sure if this is where this scope will go long term, I just snugged it on there to see what it looks like. I haven't checked ring alignment or anything so the caps are barely snugged.
