Ok fellas I need some input on a scope issue. Remington 700 varmint 26" Leupold dual dovetail rings and bases, Zeiss 4.5,-14*50mm sf . Shouting yesterday for the first time since installing this scope and ran out of windage adjustment to the right. Before installing this scope I had a Burris black diamond30 mm and it was fine. So it lens me to think its a problem with the rings or the scope? To the naked eye everything looks fine. I have a 1" steel bar I use to check alignment front to back and they're ok as fast as I can tell. Thanks

I'd go Burris sigs with offset inserts to fix the problem. I believe that power Zeiss has the least amt of travel of the conquests if I remember correctly.

As a guess I'd say your problem is a combo of less range of adjustment in the scope and out of line holes in the rifle.

I had a similar problem with Leupold dual dovetails and a Model 70. I ran out of verticle adjustment on my VX2 4-12 and ended up shimming the rear base.
I'd go with the Burris rings & bases as Raghorn recommended.

I'd say the holes in the action are not in alignment with your barrel. Maybe the holes were drilled wrong or the barrel was not installed square. In either case, you have three options to correct it.
1. Windage adjustable rear base. 2. Burris rings with adjustable inserts. 3. Have the holes re-drilled and taped for larger screws. Doing this may or may not correct the issue.
I prefer to use the Burris signature rings.

Did you have the scope bore sighted when it was mounted and was it mounted by a gun shop?

Would it be beneficial tho go to burris bases as well? I don't mind spending the money to get a good set up . I've just gotten keep in a bad habit of using Leupold because they're available locally. Everything else I have to order and I hate mail order. Thanks

The dual-dovetail Burris Signature Rings and offset inserts work great in the Leupold DD bases. I have rolled with this setup on my Swift for almost 20 years (the Swift don't need Talley's...), although back then before the flood Burris called 'em PosAlign rings.
