Thanks

The side ejection will be appreciated immediatly. I've got an old 1952 SC in .35. Had it all redone and tricked out about 20 years ago. The fit and wood is exceptionally sweet. I shoot 200 grain Hornady interlock bullets , with the ballard rifiling. It is a shootin' machine , and one of my all time favorite guns. Redfild base , with leupold low rings , and a leupold vari x lll 1.5 x 5.

The M94 Winchester is my sentimental favorite, but the Marlin offers some undeniable advantages. First of which is the ability to mount a scope. This has always been a major advantage of the Marlin design.
The second advantage is the ability to easily remove the lever and bolt so as to clean the barrel from the breech end, something that will preserve the accuracy of the barrel if you are less than careful about how you clean, and what you use to clean, from the muzzle end.
And, in my experience, the Marlins have tended to be a little more accurate than the comparable Winchesters, on average.

mine has displayed amazing accuracy from day 1. its taken several deer, an antelope, two elk and a turkey. all with open sights that I don't think I even had to touch when I bought it new, she hit right where you pointed it. I wouldn't get rid of that rifle for anything. infact I may try taking a deer with it this year just because.
