Just purchased an "as new" Accumark here. Got brass and Foster bench rest dies. Waiting for 30mm rings to mount the 4-18 Kahles but stuck a trustworthy M8 7.5 X (also bought here) on the existing rings/bases. As promised the former owner's pet load, 168 TSX 113 gr Retumbo proved to sub moa.
Now the question is what in the 180-200 gr range ? Caveat is that we do not use match bullets for hunting and that includes Berger's "hunting bullets".
The 180 MRX is quite slippery BC .473 180 SST claims .480
Experience, suggestions appreciated.

What are you hunting?
What rings/bases?
Why the fixation upon boolit weight?..............

"Slippery" is a misnomer. The 155 Scenar has a .505BC.............

BS welcome back. Have heard a lot about you but never had the pleasure.
Ring & bases are Burris Signatures as scope has no ring marks and don't want any.
Game is Antelope, White Tail Deer, Mule Deer, Elk, Moose, Bighorns, Goats & Yotes (if run across).
Now does that mean a 155 Scenar will shoot flatter, say out to 400, than a 168 TTSX ? If so how much ? Is it significant hunting big game ?
Thanks.

Bummer on the base/rings/glass.
The 155 will shoot flatter at any/all distance, because it has a higher BC and can be launched at higher speeds in conjunction.
To 400yds,I'd rather have a 308 and I HATE 308's
Hint...................

Experience, suggestions appreciated. ........The 180 Nosler AB has a BC of 507 and the 200 AB is about in the mid to high 500s. Don`t remember exactly what the BC of the 200 AB is, but it is up there in that range. .577 for the 200 AB does ring a bell.

The 200-NAB has a BC of .588.
That's what I'd run from a 30-.378. Good from close to far. Not many high-BC bullets do that. It shoots great from my lil' popgun 300 WM.
The CENTER will hold.

Big Stick, I will be sorry to see you joining with the boys from the "time out" room to offer gratitutios insults. Thanks for your first response, it was helpful.
To those who stayed on the thread's subject, Thanks to all of you.
It is unfortunate that self ego stroking among a small group of trolls is more rewarding than helping on on a question.
We have had good experience with Accubonds, that 200 might be that "all around" ticket.
Thanks.

Boss Lady.......Both the 180 and the 200 ABs are a fine choice. They shoot real good from my `lil shorty 300 carbine.

Never did figure out what folks want a mag for if they shoot light bullets..... I'd certainly do nothing less than one of the 200 mono metal bullets. Of course thats using the assumption that the round will be used for long range shots, why else would you get a 30-378 unless you are talking 600 plus yards....
