Did anyone else hear this on the radio today? I found it on the web at
Wounded in War
It was one of the most moving things I've heard from the current war in Iraq. The 3 injured vets they interviewed were matter of fact, not angry, and very positive. I thought about Americans, and America, and where the strength of our incredibly strong country comes from. Give a listen if you want to hear from some quiet heroes.

Good article. I remember during DS a Major by the name of Rhonda Cornum. She was a flight surgeon and the co-pilot of a UH-60 Blackhawk that was shotdown. The pilot CWO4 Phil Garvey of whom i knew and served with, died in the crash.

Cornum and the crewchief were both injured and taken prisoner and later released.

This major who's now a full Colonel and is the Commander of Landsthul Army Med. Center in Germany, where many of the wounded are sent and is the same place where she was sent during DS.

That is a really bad site- it grabbed my 'puter and it took me 30-40 "cancels" to get loose!

I believe I saw a typical Hollywood movie based on the incident. Pure garbage, and dissing the Major big time.

Las,

I went back to check it out, didn't get any grabs or pop-ups. Are you sure you went to

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4534450

Maybe when you played it with Realmedia or something?

Usually .orgs don't have a lot of pop-ups.

I'd be interested in hearing where the pop-ups came from.

On a related topic, Jessica Lynch visited Arizona this week, and received a hero's welcome, around the state. Arizona does honor our veterans, I hope all states will.
